My Lunar Tale (continuation)

I blinked after looking into her eyes seeing myself reflected in them. My hair had changed and so had my eyes. I asked myself how it was possible and just concluded that it was because I am not human. I finally was snapped out of my reverie by her laughter. "That's a strange name." She chortled and giggled as I just shrugged my shoulders and waited for her to calm down. If she thought that's a weird name she'll think my other name is even weirder. I didn't want to think anymore about it and just wanted to walk away and forget about her and also look for a decent hot meal before I died of starvation. I was already turning when she stopped me in her tracks with her voice full of irritation. "Are you going to just leave after introducing yourself?!" That's exactly what I am doing. "Maybe." She was obviously not pleased with my answer and huffed before replying. "Whatever, my guy is gonna be here to pick me up anyway." I shrugged my shoulders and started to walk off calling over my back "See ya then." Still, I couldn't bring myself to leave her alone and just opted to move around a corner and watch her secretly. After several minutes a young man drove up on a black Harley and helped her onto the back seat. They exchanged several kisses then drove off. Being ever curious I followed them from a distance moving from rooftop to rooftop with grace and agility. For reasons unknown to me at the time I felt a strange burning deep inside. I wondered what it could be and could not come up with any reason. Afterall a demon should not be able to feel anything unless he is being slain. Does that mean that I am dying? No, I would have disappeared into ashes by now. I erased the thought from my mind for the time being and continued to follow them until they stopped at a cafe. Using my keen sense of sight I watched them from my perch atop the roof of the building across from the cafe. The longer I watched the feeling in my chest intensified. Why am I so irritated just watching them?! It wasn't until much later that I found out that I had fallen in love and was absolutely jealous, but that is a tale I will tell later. They finally left the cafe and drove off. I did not follow them and just went on my way back to the frozen north where my mistress awaited my return and where I would be properly fed.

My Lunar Tale

I was cold. It however did not matter much to me. I had grown quite used to being chilled to my bones. Of course what I felt had nothing to do with feeling a chill. Rather I was always cold since I am not human. But all of this will be explained in due time as I recount my memories to you. I sat in my wooden shack curled up. My stomach was grumbling for I had not eaten anything. Food was very scarce during that time. I could hardly find a decent warm meal. Everywhere I looked my food was frozen or too cold to eat. I stood up finally and looked into a shattered piece of glass that I used as a small mirror and examined myself. What met my gaze was a young lad maybe around fifteen to seventeen years old. His brownish and slightly-tinged-red eyes were slightly covered by locks of pitch black and a few contrasting strands of silvery white that matched the hue of the pure virgin snow. Seeing that I looked at least half-way decent I made my way out to once more forage for food. I slowly made my way down the street until I finally caught sight of a very warm and young yet somewhat ripened meal. She was quite the breath-taking sight. I may be a monster, but I still had a heart and I could feel it beating in my chest. Her back was toward me, but I could still at least admire her shapely limbs and the curves of her body as her top snuggled her figure and a short skirt that stopped just above her knees left her legs exposed to my eyes to feast upon. I had no idea where this feeling was coming from, but I knew that I could not and would not feast upon such a delicate creature in such a barbaric manner even though what I was doing right there pretty much was. I finally tore my eyes from her limbs and moved higher as she turned and was finally able to glimpse her face. Her hazel eyes looked back into mine as if knowing what I had been doing. Her rounded face twisted up into a smirk and I could have sworn I just saw a devil's tail behind this seemingly perfect angel. Finally she made her way towards me with a noticable bounce in her step which made her long wavy brown hair bob with her. She looked up at me and introduced herself. "I'm Rain." I couldn't help but blink. "Rain doesn't suit such an Angel," I replied nonchalantly, though just by implying that I thought her to be an angel had me nailed down flat. I felt as if I had dug myself a grave. She laughed. "Okaaaay, so who are you?" I shuffled my feet slightly wondering what she would think of my own name. It was a strange one. Why my parents had given it to me I have no idea. "Chrono." I knew without a doubt, that my life would never be the same after meeting her. And even stranger, when I looked into her eyes my eyes and hair were as white as new-fallen snow.
